HCA .338 Caliber Steel Barrel Blank

Built entirely in-house with the same precision and attention to detail as our carbon-wrapped barrels, HCA steel barrel blanks are made for shooters who want uncompromising accuracy in a traditional stainless steel platform. Our .338 Caliber Steel Blanks can be chambered for any compatible cartridges, including 338 Winchester Magnum, .338 Lapua Magnum, and so on.

Each barrel starts with premium 416R stainless steel, is microhoned to less than 50 millionths bore diameter variation, single-point cut rifled or ECM, and hand-lapped for an exceptionally consistent bore and finish.

Available in three contour profiles:

• Sendero
• 1.200″ Straight
• 1.250″ Straight

Whether you’re building a lightweight hunting rifle, a competition setup, or a heavy-barreled precision rifle, these profiles give you the flexibility to choose the weight, rigidity, and balance that best fit your build.

Every HCA barrel is manufactured with accuracy and consistency at the forefront – from the initial bore work through final rifling and lapping.

HC1 Rifling™ – The Next Evolution in Barrel Technology

HC1 Rifling™ is an optional alternative to standard rifling, combining progressive twist rates with proprietary tapered land geometry to deliver a more controlled bullet transition through the bore. Designed to reduce initial engraving resistance, promote consistent bullet engagement, and enhance accuracy across a wider range of loads, HC1 represents HCA’s largest step forward in precision barrel technology. When choosing HC1, simply select your desired twist rate from the standard options, which will serve as the barrel’s final twist rate at the muzzle.

Note: HCA blank barrels ship approximately 2.5″ over the finish length. We advise removing approximately 1.5″ of material from the muzzle end and 1″ from the tenon end during final fitting and chambering.
