HCA .338 Caliber Carbon Cut-Rifled Blank

Built for shooters and rifle builders alike who demand consistency from the foundation up, the HCA .338 Caliber Carbon Cut-Rifled Blank combines precision-machined 416R stainless steel with HCA’s proprietary carbon fiber wrapping process to create a premium foundation for your next custom rifle build.

Each barrel begins with Premium 416R stainless steel and is microhoned to achieve less than 50 millionths of an inch of bore diameter variation. Maintaining exceptional consistency throughout the bore is an important part of producing a barrel capable of delivering repeatable performance from shot to shot.

Once the steel barrel has completed the machining and finishing process, it is wrapped using HCA’s proprietary hybrid fiber orientation with ultra-low resin content. Our carbon wrapping process is designed to strategically place material where it matters while minimizing unnecessary resin and weight. The result is a carbon-wrapped barrel built to provide industry-leading rigidity, weight savings, and handling characteristics expected from an HCA barrel.

With a muzzle outside diameter of approximately .900″ ± .005″, this barrel gives custom rifle builders a premium starting point for a wide range of compatible .338 caliber builds.

Note: HCA blank barrels ship approximately 2.5″ over the finish length. We advise removing approximately 1.5″ of material from the muzzle end, and 1″ from the tennon end during final fitting and chambering.
